man, that browser made me look fat.
I was showing a friend of mine the work that I’ve done on my new website and she opened the site up on her own computer using Internet Explorer instead of Safari or Firefox, which are the two browsers that I use on my own computer. The website showed my picture stretched across the screen like I was a bug flattened against a windshield. Everything looked just a little bit distorted and I was sort of… bummed out. There must be a way to prepare the site so that it looks basically the same on all the various browsers.
So I asked my favorite internet buddy….Google.
I came across an article at www.coffeecup.com that had a few suggestions for me.
Then I found another site that had a lot more suggestions!
www.absolutepositioning.com
There seems to be a lot more for me to learn. Fortunately, someone down the street was trying to throw out about 20 huge books on web design, Dreamweaver, html code and a bunch of other things related to create a cool website. I took them all inside before the garbage folks could get anywhere near them. So hopefully, I’ll be able to learn a few tricks that will keep my site from looking so distorted that my mom gives me a call asking, “honey, when was the last time you exercised. It looks like you’ve put on about 40 pounds!”
Ah, the world WIDE web.

Wow! You were so lucky to get all those books! Actually, I could learn some short cuts to solve the problems in flash from the Korean book, titled something like ‘ Death blow flash technique’. Funny title.
Unlike other thick books, this book showed very practical solutions the frequent happening problems in flash, because it was written by the long -time flash user and it was from his experience of problem solving. However, I find so many unexpected situations like you mentioned according to the browsers. By the way, I really like your newly made web site and also the pictures of you in it. I envy you so much, because I’m not photogenic at all.

I have to say that google has been my friend lately as well. I hadn’t been using it for tech questions until recently. But, now when I have a question and run to that trusty little search engine – sure enough someone else has asked it already and I am sure to find my answer! How did we ever survive without google?!!!

Hahaha, I needed to go on a “diet” too, for the longest time…until Chianan pointed out in class that my laptop has been on the wrong resolution and I wasn’t aware of it! I had no idea that I looked so fat on other computers besides my own.
It makes me wonder…why have all the resolutions anyway? Aren’t most people’s desktops and laptops a conventional size that should have a “one size fits all” resolution?
Oh well…anyway, you don’t look fat.
